Arcadian Forest Party

This was more work that he usually bothered to put in, Pan thought, especially here, at home, but everything was set.

At first glance, it appeared to be a forest clearing, beautiful and wild but nothing different than a hundred other clearings spread throughout the woods of the Arcadian mountains. But when you looked again, Pan thought, you saw something quite different. Hidden in the trees were a series of structures suspended in air, hung with ivy and dew, and through the mist-shrouded branches you could see the faint glow of light, and you could smell the scent of fire and food. There was the fire pit, a circle suspended in the arms of a large oak with a crackling golden fire, a roast, and bowls of marshmallows, chocolate and crackers waiting. There was the bar, stocked with a rich variety of wines and alcohols and staffed by two of the satyrs. And then there was the forest floor itself, bare now, but waiting for the dancing. On all sides of the floor, there were cushions on the low branches and benches of fallen logs, each accompanied with wooden buckets full of wine and beer bottles and glassed suspended with vine.

"Well," he said to Zaffre, currently wrapped around his neck, "I think we're ready." Pan flicked a leaf off his forest green turtleneck and looked around with approval before pausing. "We're almost ready," he corrected, and pulled his pan flute up to his lips.

The forest filled with music as he played, music that began as the mystical songs of the flute, but transformed as he let the instrument fall to his side - transformed into thrumming, sensual rhythms and intricate guitars that would encourage the party-goers to...well, Pan thought with a sharp grin, to be bad. Very bad.

"Let the games begin," Pan said.

[Notes: Everyone in [livejournal.com profile] fortuna_invicta is invited, the more the merrier in Pan's opinion. If anyone needs directions to the right section of the forest, let Pan know on the SWS post. Mingle! Get drunk! Stuff your face! Find a secluded tree and do naughty things! Pan approves highly of all these pursuits. Format = narrative third person, if you please!]

Eris straightened as she heard the voice... That familiar voice. Her grin, just short of wicked, spread as she turned to face her cousin. "Always with the flattery, Eros," she mused, her voice raspy, as she took the drink the tender handed over.

Her dark eyes inspected him closely as she took a long sip of the drink. "And you're not looking half bad yourself."

Pan slides around Ganymede, turning to face him as he pops the melting, charred marshmallow into his mouth and eats it. His other hand keeps Ganymede from escaping, as if the thought was even in his mind.

"All things that suit you," he murmured in a low purr. "All things that suit you exceptionally well. Especially the life part. Want some?" he asked innocently, extending his fingers.

The negation was surprisingly vehement, causing both of Apollo's eyebrows to lift in belated surprise. He nodded, unmoving beneath the boy's touch. "As you wish, belovèd."

Oh, but he'd been alone for so long, it was almost second nature now to hesitate, to move slowly. Gone indeed were the days when he took what he wished and moved on to the next conquest. The last time he'd done such had scarred him more than he'd ever care to admit, and it was a mistake he would not make, not a second time.

He could have just set up a giant fire pit with buckets of Aunt Hestia's marshmallows, and the party would have been just as successful, Pan thought dryly, turning to watch the slender moon goddess fill her plate with chocolate. "Selene," he said smoothly. "It's been some time."

[identity profile] lovedoftwogods.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hyacinthe looked at him for a long moment, and his hand squeezed Apollo's arm gently before it went back to his beer, a gesture of mixed apology and a promise of affection unforgotten.

He drank in silence for a while, but eventually he had to speak, between running out of his rapidly imbibed beer, a need to make conversation and a need to prove to himself he could still speak easily to Apollo.

"How have you been?" He asked. A silly question, idle chatter. But it filled the silence.

Sweets always made for a good party, after all. Selene had been distracted by a piece of chocolate, sucking on it as she filled her plate with the rest of the necessary ingredients. Distracted enough that she'd hardly realized who had been nearby...

Who had just spoken her name, causing her skin to prickle. Wide eyed and blinking, she turned to Pan, smiling just a little. As much as she could, that is, with a piece of chocolate sticking out of her mouth. She removed the offending food from her lips, licking the excess chocolate off. "Pan!" she exclaimed at last, her cheeks burning. "It's been far too long."

[identity profile] lovessweetbait.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Eros let out a low, gasping moan as Freya's teeth closed on his skin and he drove into her again and again, taking them both higher with each thrust. This wouldn't take long, but he'd draw it out, leaving them both trembling on the edge for as long as he possibly could.

Their lusts and twin influences mingled and flowed through the forest, unguarded and unnoticed and by either.

Ah, it was to be this, then. At least for the moment. Very well. Apollo shrugged one shoulder, finally picking up his drink and taking a healthy sip.

"Well, for the most part. Enjoying the quiet." Which was so very true. He'd left Olympus behind with few regrets, the least of all the memories that still stirred during the deep watches of the night.

"Working, as well. Since Helios decided to disappear, I've been carrying on his duties as well as my own." Bitter irony, there. He'd neither wanted nor needed such a heavy responsibility, but now, after looking back over the rest of his relatives, belatedly realized he'd entrust it to no one else. ...damn the Fates, regardless.

I completely love your PB, can I just say that. OMG.

[identity profile] lovessweetbait.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course, Eris. Always." He grinned as Lysander slid him a gin martini. "You're too kind. Looking for trouble tonight?"

[identity profile] panikondeima.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Pan grinned and grabbed his own chocolate, unwrapping it and taking a back. "I never see you," he said, his blue eyes widening. "It's a tragedy, Selene. You really must come by more often."

His eyes flicked to the plate of chocolate and practically glowed with laughter. "I can keep chocolate on hand, if that might be incentive."

He's very easy to manhandle, as it were, given he hasn't been able to ever really fill out from the way he was all those years ago at nineteen. He licks his lips as he watches Pan eat the marshmallow, eyes on the god's fingers as they reach towards him.

Without batting an eye he takes one digit into his mouth, sucking gently and sliding his teeth against the smooth skin to get the sticky sweet residue off, very aware of just how obscene it looks, and very uncaring.

"Would I ever not?" he asks, a little breathless as he lets the fingertip slide off his lips, now wet and glistening in the firelight. "I will not run away, Pan. You do not have to seduce me."

Baw! Thank you! :D She has all the best expressions. XD

[identity profile] goldendiscordia.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Eris moved so she was now leaning against the bar, a mimic of his posture. Her grin became a bit more toothy before she took another long sip of her drink. "Always," she mused, answering just as he had. "When am I ever not, Eros?"

[identity profile] lovedoftwogods.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
"That seems like a tremendous burden to bear." Hyacinthe said. "Surely his replacement could have been a god without so many other aspects to oversee." He said, quietly. "So you would not be charged with such an important task. I hope he comes out of hiding, if some cruel fate has not befallen him."

[identity profile] moonlitselene.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Selene smiled softly, tilting her head at him slightly. "Why Pan, I didn't know you cared so much," she teased him lightly. She set the piece of chocolate she'd been sucking on onto her plate for the moment being...

And couldn't help but laugh. "Trying to bribe me with sweets now?" she mused. "I would think your company alone would be incentive enough."

Biting down at each upward stroke she let out a series of broken gasps and growls. It felt so amazing. She seldom got the opportunity to have sex with a fellow deity of desire.

"Oh, Er-ros..." her voice was trembling and her head fell back from his neck. She was nearing her peak.

[identity profile] bringsthelight.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Apollo snorted again, becoming more saturnine, if possible. He downed the rest of his whiskey and slid the glass back for another.

"Oh, he has. And quite frankly told me he wanted no part of it anymore." That conversation had gone rather well, considering. Apollo's power was a force with which to be reckoned, but even he wasn't foolish enough to clash wills with a Titan.

Besides, he did love his uncle, even if he'd like to drop kick him across a few hemispheres sometimes.

[identity profile] lovessweetbait.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Never as long as I've known you," Eros replied, with just enough emphasis on "long" to mean long, far back at the beginning. He nodded at a corner of the bar oddly shrouded in shadow as he took a sip of his martini. "Your mother is here."

[identity profile] addiesands.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
When Pan asked her what her pleasure was, she only had one thing on her mind: alcohol. And lots of it. She was intimidated by being around all of these deities, and she knew that a screwdriver would help.

So she beelined to the makeshift bar with, well, of course, satyrs, and asked, "Could I have a screwdriver, please?"

[identity profile] panikondeima.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Pan smiled, his eyes like twin sapphires framed by dark lashes and intent on Ganymede's lips and tongue. "Do I not?" he purred. "But seduction is such a fun game, Ganymede." He leaned forward, whispering again but against Ganymede's parted lips this time.

"The chase can be as worthwhile as the catch," he breathed out, and then slanted his lips over Ganymede's.

"You flatter me, Pan, truly." A modest smile be-painted her face as she brought the tea to her lips, savoring how the hot liquid felt against her throat. "I am, however, quite efficient at the lyre if you must know."

[identity profile] lovedoftwogods.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I am sorry to hear that." Hyacinthe said. "He should be ashamed, neglecting his duties." He slid his glass across the bar as well. "Entirely unfair that you alone saw fit to take care of his mess." He shook his head. Everything was going a little fuzzy at the edges of his left eye and that was fine with him. He accepted another beer and drank deeply.

Dionysus had been watching the party with delight since he had arrived, settling contentedly on one of the velvet cushions and happily nursing a glass of wine. His head was swimming already; he'd been drunk since early morning and apparently had no plans of stopping, now.

Instead, he just reclined into the cushion, making no attempt to hide his open ogling of men and women alike as he sipped at his wine.

"Really?" Pan said, and his eyes sparkled with amused mischief as he took a bite of chocolate. "I wouldn't have guessed. I'm going to need you to elaborate on how my company is incentive," he added as he skewered a marshmallow. "I so often hear the reverse, you know?"

Poor Pan. He's such a liar.

[identity profile] goldendiscordia.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Glad I'm consistent at least," Eris mused with a sharp laugh. Her gaze followed the nod he gave her, down to the end of the bar with just enough shadow to be out of the ordinary.

"Not really up for tearful reunions," she murmured, taking another sip of her drink. "Maybe I'll say hello later."

[identity profile] bringsthelight.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't," the deity admitted ruefully, leaning an elbow on the counter. "Father saw fit to saddle me with it just after Helios disappeared."

And that conversation had gone over splendidly, hadn't it? It was on record as one of the most titanic arguments that had ever taken place on Olympus. But it'd ended with Apollo biting back his rage and coldly removing both himself and everything else affiliated with his presence from the ancestral "home of the gods". And he'd not been back since.

Sighing, he shrugged again. "Helios has lost his ability to care, it seems. He's content to roam the world at will, doing whatever comes to him. He won't take the chariot again, not willingly."
